Students from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, studying Applied Psychology, explored the social impact of the Walking Boulevard.
Has transforming parking spaces into walking paths and green gardens encouraged people to meet more often? Are neighbours spending more time together and starting conversations more easily?
To help foster new connections, the students developed several creative initiatives, including Green Conversations cards, designed to make it easy to start a chat with someone, and an activities blog to encourage community engagement.
A valuable contribution to creating not only a greener city, but a more connected one as well.

It’s interesting to see students not only conducting research but also developing initiatives that can be directly utilized by the community. This serves as a concrete example of the role students play in society through a simple yet impactful approach.
